Steam Quality Testing Whitepaper
This paper discusses what steam quality testing is and why it needs to be done.
Steam quality testing involves testing samples of steam for non-condensable gases, superheat, and dryness value (DV). Steam quality testing should be
performed as part of the initial validation of the sterilizer. It should also be performed as part
of the annual requalification of the sterilizer.
Testing should also be performed if there is any indication of deteriorating steam quality or if there are any modifications or repairs to the steam distribution system.
